First, I suppose you want to know exactly what a nature walk is. A nature walk can involve many things or just have a specific focus. However, it is still an educational venture along a trail, footpath, or even an open outside space with lots to explore. Now that you know the definition of a nature walk, it's time for your next step. Look at your reason for the nature walk and what you and your child/children will get out of it. Chances are, that's not enough. I encourage you to allow free exploration and free thinking. Yes, this means that the child will lead. You will be amazed at what they will find and how you can build upon that. It is a glorious feeling for you both. You will find that children will compare and contrast, measure, add and subtract, communicate and socialize, gather information and objects, and much much more. You get to see all of their prior knowledge come in to play. Most of all, you will all experience joy in learning! Can you believe it? All of that in one nature walk can really make a huge difference.
